Buncheong iron silver plantain square vase

This is a tall, rectangular vase designed to hold an abundant arrangement of flowers and plants. It is constructed using a coiling technique, resulting in a form defined by gently curved straight lines rather than sharp edges, highlighting the natural softness of the coiled square shape. A brush made of woven grass is used to apply a diluted crematory slip, creating bold, expressive streaks across the surface. The plantain motif is depicted in a downward-stretching form: one leaf is rendered in deep red iron oxide, preserving the intensity of its floral essence, while the other is decorated with silver. The strong contrast between the two creates a vivid sense of vitality and the dynamic energy of life.
