An introduction to Armenian Carpet traditions

This is a short workshop on Armenian Carpet weaving. During this workshop, Nelly will present the traditional knots of Armenian carpets, the unique colour-making process of the wool typical to Armenia. She will demonstrate and explain the techniques of basic weaving and framing. Participants will also have the opportunity to try some basic knots and framing techniques. By weaving part of a rug or embellishing a piece of fabric, participants will understand the basics of carpet weaving. The workshop includes all materials, coffee and tea.
