Lu Huang creates mixed media installations with the environment at the heart of her practice. "I embrace an unbounded artistic philosophy," she says. Lu uses floral art as a medium to craft large-scale immersive works, deconstructing and reassembling dynamic materials such as bamboo, straw, preserved flowers and upcycled items. She works with heritage crafts, such as tongcaohua sola flowers, which are delicate artificial flowers crafted from rice paper plant. Her mixed media botanicals are infused with emotion, architectural presence and vitality. Through contemporary expression, Lu continually advocates for environmental protection.
