Swans in the Moonlight
José Lourenço crafted this wooden box by using marquetry techniques. The symmetrical design with curved edges and ornamental carved details is made from a selection of exotic woods, including ipê, tola, mutene, wenge, French oak, American walnut, sycamore, mahogany, and pomelé eucalyptus. The lid showcases an inlaid image of two swans forming a heart shape, framed by contrasting wood tones and grain patterns. Inside, the box is lined with deep red fabric and includes multiple compartments, some of which are concealed. The front panel incorporates carved elements with light and dark wood contrasts, adding depth and texture to the piece.
