Gondola element with applied gold leaf

This elaborate wooden piece is a decorative element that will be set on a gondola. Three coats of arms in gold sit a black background. The wood was carved by a master woodcarver while Elisabetta Mason painted and applied the god leaf. She has been working with gondola makers and restorers for decades.
