Sound of Shore #1

The Sound of the Shore series of artwork panels employs a colouring technique using ammonia and salt on copper. A blue hue is attained by applying water to salt, then placing it on copper and letting it react with ammonia gas in a sealed container. This work embodies Dubong Kim's reflection on visually capturing the ocean's sound, reminiscent of his time spent listening to waves crashing against the shore. The salt symbolises the spray generated by the rhythmic waves.
