13-string guitar

In addition to the six strings of an ordinary guitar, this guitar has seven bass strings. As a result, and due to the extension of the fingerboard to 24 frets, the range reaches a full five octaves. It offers a higher volume and can be used in combination with an orchestra and for chamber music. It is neither larger nor significantly heavier than a standard classical guitar.
