Coccomalachitosphere

This wood sculpture was crafted from a big root of evergreen oak, turned, carved, sanded, sandblasted, tainted with ferric oxide colour, and coloured with coloured pencils. The idea was to make a sculpture inspired by micro planktons called coccolithosphère. Alain is a big fan of the forms of microscopic organisms in the sea that resemble organic spaceships floating in outer space.
