7/14 viola d'amore

This viola d’amore was crafted from plum wood with boxwood, faux ivory and tortoiseshell, ebony and maple, and was finished with a pine resin and linseed oil varnish. It has flame-shaped sound holes, and an ornate floral pattern on the tailpiece and lower neck. It has seven playing strings and 14 wire sympathetic strings – tuned in an open tuning in C, giving it a rich deep tone.
