The sculpture was handmade using traditional wax modelling techniques. The beeswax was collected and analysed by scientists at Cornell University, New York, and found to contain pesticide residues. Annette’s piece highlights research on agricultural chemical use and its impact on pollinators, promoting discussions on our complex relationship with nature and the human-made factors affecting global insect populations.
