The Tale of the Last Prince of Lithuania
In this book written by L. Mickutė, and published by 700 eilučių, the main source of inspiration for the illustrations are the tapestries in the Palace of the Grand Dukes in Vilnius. They form the visual part of the book. These woven drawings reflect the political, economic, social and financial status of the time and tell the story of the era in which the last Lithuanian prince, and later king, Sigismund Augustus, lived. Many of the tapestries were redrawn by Ieva Babilaitė and used in the book. A very important component is the paper, which has been coated, soaked in paint, torn or cut in various ways.
