A circular object in various brown tones is suspended in the centre of a colourless block of acrylic resin. The inner shape is made from segmental layers of wood taken from the interior of a beech tree that was once inhabited by a woodpecker. Like all living things, the tree dies and is reborn, representing the circle of life.
