Seaweed Brooch

Many small, identical pieces of hand-worked bronze were soldered to create a sculptural seaweed-like brooch. The detailed work is part of Erik's jewellery series and demonstrates his fascination with shapes and structures found in nature. He likes the way in which similar shapes can be combined to become a recognisable object, such as a branch defined by leaves or, as in this case, a clump of seaweed formed by small fronds.
