From My Grandmother's Chest
Rasa Justaité-Gecevičiené's grandmother's chest contained her bridal dowry: hand embroidered pillows, tablecloths and bedspreads, items used to decorate her house for over 40 years. Today, Rasa has inherited them. Most of them are obsolete and outworn. Rasa cannot embroider them herself, so she decided to recreate these decorations on a ceramic surface. All the patience and love she received from her family, and which will be passed on to her daughter, is reflected in the print.
