Bilas

This wall sculpture by Valérie Tanfin represents the wise and severe face of a warrior from Papua New Guinea. Each feather is worked one by one, some are coloured, bleached or left natural in order to get as close as possible to the ancestral finery. The mask is sculpted in lime wood, painted with pigments and embellished with shells.
