Sash

This striped sash was hand-woven with bourette silk and linen. Laura De Cesare used the filaticcio lucchese technique, which originated in Lucca between the 13th and 14th century, when the Tuscan town was an important hub for silk. Back then, filaticcio as a technique allowed the re-use of waste from silk processing.
