Wine vessel

This wine vessel is coil-built in white clay. It is ovoid shape and stands in a diagonal position when on a flat surface. A narrow protruding spout, with a smooth, pure white surface, contrasts with the bulbous body covered with wrinkly texture and greenish-blue stripes. A rolled-up end, along with an overall white-and-blue colour palette, evokes the natural outline of a seashell. The vessel pays homage to the ancient Georgian traditions of ceramic wine-ware, known for its diversity and richness of shapes.
