Rémi Bracquemond, captivated by Japanese ceramics and art deco, embarked on a ceramic odyssey to master hand building, wheel throwing, and surface decoration in both Paris and Kyoto. Leaving behind a mundane office job, Rémi honed his skills over the years, ultimately establishing the travelling gallery Volume Ceramics in Paris. Drawing inspiration from Japanese culture, Le Louvre, and art deco, Rémi’s artistic process unfolds through sketches, each form leading into the next. His pursuit of the perfect beige or brick finish defines his palette of muted tones. Playing with glazes, adjusting oxides, and exploring enchanting colours, Rémi revels in the endless possibilities of clay. What he treasures most is the autonomy and freedom in every stage of his craft, savouring the meditative solitude that disconnects him from the outside world.
