Esposto in A ROOTED ASCENT
Oak wood
This vessel by Darren Appiagyei was lathe turned from a single section of English oak burr, prized for its richly figured grain. The form was finished by hand, and pyrography was applied across the exterior. Guided by the direction of the grain, knots and voids, the work preserves the wood’s natural irregularities as integral structural and compositional elements.
