This vessel by Eleanor Lakelin was turned and hollowed on a lathe before being sandblasted and stripped of any remaining bark. The surface was then refined with chisels and polishing tools, scorched and finished with oil and wax. Embodying a tension between two dimensions of time, the work brings together the century scale of human culture through its artistic form, and the millennial scale of nature, articulated by the endurance of a burred tree.
