Crawling Qualia

This sculpture by Aki Rusu was shaped from iron using a combination of techniques, including welding, controlled rusting, and the stacking and roasting of small iron chips. Embracing the forces of oxidation and decay, the work takes on a compelling vertical form that reflects the passage of time and the evolving nature of matter.
