Dudlu, Nkosazana

These sculptures by Siyabonga Fani were coil built from recycled terracotta and shaped freehand into organic forms. The surfaces were burnished and smoke fired, producing a rich sheen alongside natural markings and cracks reminiscent of dry rivulets. Taking on sinuous and feminine silhouettes, the pieces evoke curving necks and upturned chests.
