These vessels by Jane Yang-D'Haene were coil built to embed fragments from earlier works into the clay. The surfaces were developed through layers of mark-making and glaze, with multiple firings creating depth and unpredictability. Mirroring the artist’s journey, the pieces encapsulate years filled with both pain and joy. Metaphors for the body, they bear marks and cuts of past experiences, yet are lovingly coated with a protective glaze.
