Papilio Ulysses

This is a hand painted butterfly on 100% linen fabric using a mixed media technique of acrylic paint, natural pigments and watercolour. It is rendered in a soft, ethereal style. Its wings are broad and translucent. Small circles in dark blue and grey tones, shaped like eyes, stand out on the wings.
