©Zhu BingrenOrigin of Blue and White, Rencai enamel edition
This vase is the inaugural work in Bingren Zhu's Rencai Twelve Forms series. Drawing inspiration from the bold and majestic aesthetic of Yuan Dynasty blue-and-white porcelain, he builds upon his distinctive gengcai technique to achieve the first integration of cloisonné enamel on a copper body with rencai enamel. Through an innovative combination of form, colour and surface texture, the work introduces a new artistic expression within the field of enamel art, a significant moment in the continuing legacy and evolution of Chinese copper artistry.
