Artifact

This sculpture by Tsuyoshi Ueda was cast in bronze using sand moulds. The surface was treated with chemicals and fire to induce rust and bring out the colour and texture of the metal. Returning processed metal to its mineral state, the work celebrates the natural tendency to rust as the metal reverts to its original condition.
