Green Ovoid Diatom, Green Tetrahedron Diatom

These sculptures by Jiyong Lee were crafted from cut and ground clear glass blocks, laminated with tinted adhesive. The surfaces were finished to create a matte and translucent effect. Inspired by microscopic organisms in water, the pieces are meant to mirror the complexity of life through the tension between simple exterior form and intricate internal layers.
