Esposto in A FEAST OF LIGHT
Porcelain
This urn by Xavier Castro was slip cast in porcelain. Coral-like forms were built through slip trailing and porcelain foam, then slow dried, and fired at high temperature to achieve whiteness and translucency. Contrasting a symmetrical neoclassical form with hyperrealistic coral growths, the piece evokes a sunken treasure gradually overtaken by nature.
