Pine wood
This sculpture by Borja Cáceres was made from salvaged high mountain black pine, worked manually through incision and scraping following the direction of the xylem. The surface was finished with natural wax. Developed without following a predetermined design, the work responded to the fragment’s pre-existing morphology and selectively revealed the tree’s internal structure.
