Ambiguity

This vessel by Konrad Koppold was carved with a chainsaw from a single block of oak wood and hollowed out with self-made tools. The interior was finely sanded and blackened. Exploring the tension between nature and design, the work contrasts the solidity of the wood with its angular protrusion and hollowed cavity, introducing a sense of ambiguity.
