Morana Chair

This chair by Tadeas Podracky was fully hand carved out of spruce wood, constructed through laminated layers of solid timber. The surface was sanded and finished with white pigmented wax. Combining a skeletal form with botanical elements, the piece explores death and rebirth. It blurs boundaries between body and object, and draws on ritual practices to question what it means for an object to be alive.
