These jars by Patricia Shone were hand formed from solid masses of clay and stretched to extenuate the structures. They were saggar fired, achieving stone-like qualities, and left unglazed. Inspired by the artist's mountainous homeland, the Isle of Skye, the vessels evoke natural rock formations. The outer, textured surfaces contrast with the controlled forms of the inner volumes.
