Rice Fanna basket
Wide and shallow, this Gullah basket would traditionally be used to separate rice grains from chaff. It is hand-sewn with locally-harvested sweetgrass, pine needles, bulrush, and palmetto. Concentric rings of tans, browns and light greens radiate outward to a low perimeter rim with intertwined rows.
