Banpo
This piece is titled banpo, a term for a traditional Korean textile patterned with spots or stripes. This piece is a recreation of samyeon-gyojik, a mixed weave combining silk and cotton. Jiwon Ree arranges a silk warp with madder, as well as weld dyed yarns to form stripes, then traditionally hand weaves the cloth with a cotton weft.
