This sheet of marbled paper features a design that became popular in book decoration from the second half of the 18th century. It is dedicated to Lithuanian bookbinders, who have a particular fondness for earthy tones and classical patterns. With its warm browns, soft yellows and muted greys, the marbled paper would beautifully adorn the front and back endpapers of a book, harmonising perfectly with a brown or black traditionally bound cover.
