Mind Flowers
This glass sculpture is presented as a diptych. It combines multiple glassmaking techniques, including glassblowing, glass-casting, flame-working and slumping. Each element is produced separately and then assembled into a unified composition. The work is composed of three sections: a curved, colourful base, an opaque white middle form and multiple moody, white-ish grey stems emerging from within. With its multi-technique construction and intricate assembly, Mind Flowers represents a technically demanding small-scale sculpture that highlights the expressive possibilities of glass.
