A gathering #3

This family of basket-like forms was turned on a lathe from the freshly harvested roots of Pacific madrone. The walls are very thin, allowing the wood to dry without cracking. The wood has been bleached to emphasise movement and accentuate the natural distortion that occurs as it dries.
