©Kim LightbodyCoroepsis dye on fibre swatches
These swatches of organic and unbleached cotton, European linen, Turkish cotton, UK-grown peace silk fabrics and regenerative British wool yarn hang on a drying rack. They are hand dyed with Coreopsis flowers, which yields warm, earthy orange tones on natural fibres, with subtle variations across materials. Traditionally, Coreopsis flowers have been used in North American prairie communities for ceremonial textiles, associated with fertility and protection from lightning.
