Ephemere

This glass object shows the texture of frost and ice using only clear glass. It was made by repeating a kiln process six times, combining a thin 2mm glass sheet with a 3kg glass block. The piece blends fragile and strong textures, expressing Chika Kato's personal memory of frost and ice.
