In this wall-mounted hand embroidery, Richard McVetis rendered over 40,000 seed stitches with black cotton thread on cream wool, forming a sphere that alludes to the celestial and cellular. The stitches mark his hand’s rhythm, a performance the artisan refers to as "obsessive intricacy."
