This lacquered panel features a single gold and silver leaf gilded dandelion. The panel was lacquered with 25 to 30 layers to achieve this finish. Tuesday Riddell specialises in japanning, a historic technique dating back to the 17th century, originally developed as a European imitation of Asian lacquer work.
