Vase with malachite base

This lidded vase represents hunting scenes. It has two three-dimensional figures on either side, depicting Pan, the ancient Greek god of shepherds and hunters. The object is modelled in clay, using the lost wax casting process, then chiselled from silver completely by hand and finished with gilding.
