Tribute to the Japanese woodcut master Kitagawa Utamaro
In a homage to the artist Kitagawa Utamaro, one of the most highly regarded creators of ukiyo-e woodblock prints and paintings, this porcelain bust shrouded in a cloud features one of his portraits corrupted by a factory skyline of conveyors and smokestacks. The sculpture belongs to the Tears of Utamaro series.
