Proserpina and her companions

This polychrome majolica plate recalls with philological care the themes and techniques of Renaissance ceramics from central Italy, in this case from the Duchy of Urbino. The subject depicts the mythological scene in which Proserpina and her companions are set in a landscape with rocks, water, trees and castles in the distance.
