The Seamstress’s Garden
A seamstress stands calmly in the foreground of this large wall hanging, displaying a cloth embroidered with multicoloured flowers that mutate into the fantastic, all-engulfing background. Inger tells a story through her work, beginning with traditional patterns that she enlarges and dramatises. Every stage is carried out by hand, from drawing the initial sketches to dyeing, cutting and painstaking stitching.
