Switch

This instrument was designed for a special customer, and was inspired by Frank Rohles's and Brian May's self-made guitars. Bastian deviated from the original idea of a red stained top in favour of his 'Real Steel' finish – a coating made of steel powder, which is applied in a special painting process and then sanded and polished to a high gloss. He stained the back completely black and lacquered it to create a high gloss. The top is set off by a natural binding.
