Calligraphy with natural handmade tools and ancient alphabets

This workshop aims to familiarise participants with the creative process of handwriting, the drawing tools made of natural materials and the mindful creation of the letter. It takes place at the artist’s studio, with an inspiring view, and includes learning of the ancient writing methods. Participants, guided by artist Irini Gonou, will first collect natural materials during an exploratory walk in the nearby nature. Back in the studio, they will create tools made out of the collected materials and then focus on drawing letters; they will learn how to reproduce mindfully ancient alphabets with walnut ink or other natural handmade inks.
