Isle of Wight Studio Glass was established in 1973 by one of the founders of the British Studio Glass Movement, Michael Harris (1933-1994) and his wife Elizabeth. Now run by Michael’s son, Timothy Harris, the studio continues to pursue the family tradition of excellence and innovation in studio glass design and production. In this class, designed for beginners who have never touched hot glass before, you will hear an introductory talk and watch a demonstration before receiving one-to-one expert tuition as you make a small glass object, such as a paperweight. This is the ideal introduction to decorative glassmaking.

In this intensive, intermediate class, designed for those who have already completed a taster session first, you will get one-to-one personal tuition as you explore a number of the processes involved in glassmaking. By the end of the workshop, you will go away with three of your very own hand blown pieces which may include, for example, a small perfume bottle, a vase and/or a bowl.
