An exploration of fibre and colour
Lise Camoin is a textile researcher, artist and dyer, whose work is deeply rooted in the exploration of colour and natural materials. Her artistic journey began with a history degree from the University of Avignon, followed by three years of training as a decorative painter, where she developed a profound passion for colour harmonies. Lise's significant turning point in 2010 was her encounter with natural dyeing, which shaped her professional focus towards a new direction.
Sensitive to the natural world, Lise's artistic philosophy questions human involvement in the generation of form, considering the material's history, and crucially, its future. Her work has been showcased at notable events, including Paris Design Week in 2020 and 2021, and the Quercus Suber competition at Villa Noailles in 2023, where she was awarded an encouragement prize. Looking ahead, in 2026, Lise is among the finalists for the prestigious Parcours prize, awarded by the Bettencourt-Schuller Foundation's Intelligence de la main initiative, in collaboration with Couleur Garance.
