Fonderia Artistica Brollo

Metal casting

Spinea, Italy

A family history in metal casting

Fonderia Artistica Brollo was founded by Giuseppe Brollo in Spinea, near Venice, in 1962. Specialising in the micro casting technique, a high precision application of the lost wax casting technique, the foundry brings unique objects in gold, silver, bronze and brass to life. Giuseppe’s son Luciano took over the reins of the atelier in the early 1990s, bringing with him his art education and his experience of working with his father for many years. The team at Fonderia Artistica Brollo makes a wide range of objects and precious pieces, from candelabras to rings, chalices and decorations, on behalf of artists and private clients.

Another important role the atelier performs is the restoration of sacred and civil objects that have been damaged by time or external events. The team, led by Luciano, follows a process to identify the techniques and materials used to construct the original piece, studying the objects and researching their histories. The works that are restored might be sacred, secular, silver, brass or bronze. "It takes careful attention to recover original details and colours and restore pieces to their original forms," explains Luciano.
